Founded by Ms. Irene Mwihava, Vikindu Eco-Cultural Tourism was established as a bold response to climate change and community livelihood challenges in Mkuranga District. The initiative empowers local communities, especially women and youth, through sustainable tourism, environmental education, and nature-based solutions.
Our long-term vision is to support the restoration of coastal ecosystems by planting track and report with geo tagging over 1 million trees by 2035, while generating sustainable income through eco-tourism, cultural experiences, and climate-linked programs. Every visit contributes directly to conservation, community development, and global climate goals.
